Going Against Reality

“Everyone was crying and carrying on over her. Jesus said, ‘Don't cry. She didn't die; she's sleeping.’ They laughed at him. They knew she was dead.” 

Luke 8:52-53

Though this beloved woman was known to be dead, Jesus assured that this was not over. Though the people saw the dead body before their eyes, Jesus spoke of life. They all saw the assumed reality. Jesus saw His plan. Just because something looks dead does not mean that it’s all over. When God promises a resurrection, the situation doesn’t matter. The perceived appearance is insignificant. If God assures you that you’re not alone, you’re not, no matter how lonely you feel. If God assures you that He’s not finished, then He’s not, no matter how hopeless the situation seems. If God assures you that He will deliver, He will, no matter how dead His promise appears. He’s unstoppable. He’s limitless. He’s all-powerful. He’s beyond your situation and He’s beyond your imagination. Trust His assurances and persevere. He keeps every promise He makes!
