God's Character

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” 

Deuteronomy 31:6

This epitomizes God’s character! We have no reason to be afraid, no matter what happens, because He is in control. He’s right beside us, giving us every reason to be strong and courageous. He promises never to leave you, and He is thoroughly incapable of lying. He promises to see you through your storm, and He will! He promises to be with you always, and He will! He promises, if you delight in Him, to give you the desires of your heart, and He will. He promises to protect you, no matter the cost, and He will. Yet there’s complaining still. You don’t see Him in your circumstances. You don’t feel His presence with you. This causes you to doubt and pursue the road of giving up on God’s help. Please acknowledge the truth that it’s not about you. God’s character is not dependent on our circumstances. God’s character is not dependent on our feelings. God is who He is because that’s who He is! Nothing made Him that way. Nothing can change Him. Nothing can scare Him away. Nothing can force Him to be less than Sovereign, less than All-powerful, less than All-caring, and less than present. He cares, He knows, and He’s right there with you, regardless of what you see or feel. He is the sole absolute that you can believe in and depend on, even in a ruthless storm. Be confident in who your God is!
