The Fire!

“Do not put out the Spirit’s fire;” 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Christianity is not bland, tasteless, joyless, or dead. It is not lackluster, nor empty or even boring in any way. The moment you ask Christ, the Conquering Lamb of God to reign over your life, the very spirit of His being breathed into you with flames, with vigor, with a raging vivacity that refuses to quiet and cool. His heat, His energy rushes through your veins. As your relationship with Christ continues, you feel as if He’s far, to the point of possibly questioning the so called “abundant life” He promises to give. His way loses all excitement. Know now this is not because He is these things. Other people, other talents, other dreams, other pursuits-You blanket these atop the once blinding fire of Christ, making His blessings and life unseen. No wonder He seems distant-You’ve covered Him up with you. Realize this! The glorious, victorious, true abundant life can only thrive when you choose to not blanket God but instead place those people, those talents, those dreams, those pursuits at the feet of Jesus, beneath His power, as the wood to His might. Give what He already gave you as the fuel, not the covering. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire!
