Tomorrows

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come when the time comes.” Matthew 6:34
Being a Christian is continuous state. Seeking God is a daily effort. Jesus has seen the way we humans shut down or speed up with stress, and He’s reminding us here to stop! It’s not about those things we worry about. Life’s too entirely short to panic and spend hours upon days upon weeks thinking about all that’s coming up or about what others think. Time isn’t guaranteed to us. All those days in the future that you’re so concerned with-Those aren’t yours to worry about. What you have is simply today, right now and Jesus is telling us precisely what to do with it: Give your entire attention to God. Revolve your priorities around Him. Breathe His love in deeply. Burrow your soul further into His soul. It’s not about God getting to know you better so He knows how to handle your problems. Never is that the case. God knows you, your most prominent characteristics and your most intimate secrets. It’s about you getting to know God better so that we never forget for a moment that He is able. When we are lost in Him, we don’t focus on our concerns. Don’t wait until tomorrow because tomorrow is not yours! You have today. The second your eyes opened this morning, that's where you were. Not next year. Not next month. Not tomorrow. So open yourself to God today, and He will strengthen you for your tomorrows.
