The Hand That Always Holds

“For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, “Do not fear; I will help you.”
Isaiah 41:13
When we pray, begging God for help, we usually just want the help to get us out of the situation. We’ve been discouraged, depreciated, and defeated. It’s that feeling of being hurt over and over again yet somehow you’re always able to stand yourself up…enough to just get hurt again. You’re stripped without ever becoming bare. You want out, don’t you? We just want God to fix it and get us out. We pray for escape. We pray for answers. True, God may come with an escape, but most of the time, He comes with Himself. He holds your right hand tightly within His left and He reminds you that there’s nothing to fear. He knows it hurts. He knows your heart is shattered. He knows you want to quit, but He also knows the bigger picture. There’s a purpose. He has a beautiful plan for you and it requires this in order for you to get there. He’s working and He has promised to weave this for your good. In the meantime, however, you just have to keep moving forward. Even if it’s small steps and you feel like you can only crawl, keep moving. Don’t give up, because God is helping you, even though it may be His presence that is the help and not an answer. I assure you that He is enough. Keep moving. He’s there, holding your hand, walking right beside you through it.
