In The Lull

“God, the one and only-I’ll wait as long as He says. Everything I hope for comes from Him, so why not? He’s the solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul.”
Psalm 62:1-2
There. In the busyness. In the inconsistency. In the lull. In the hurt. Right there-it doesn’t seem like God is so great, does it? He doesn’t seem to be doing anything. He doesn’t seem to be listening. You feel unheard and alone. But that’s where faith needs to come in. This is what faith is-Believing your reigning King is so very firmly and fiercely in control, whether one sees it or not. Nothing can push the Almighty off His throne. God-the one and utterly invincible King of all kings and the source of all power in the universe-is more than people tend to give Him credit to be. God has never run and hid. He’s never moved. He promised not to abandon you, and He holds to that promise today. Just because we, in our small perspective, can’t see God working doesn’t mean that He’s not. He hears you. His ears are so very sensitive to hear even your soft moans. Such a sound speaks volumes only your Creator can understand. For His most divine plan and for His most deserving glory, He is choosing to work behind the scenes. He’s paying attention and He’s active on your behalf. What of the moment we feel alone and ignored? Those are the moments to execute a faith the world laughs at but Christ revels in. Regardless of the fickle people and the changing situations around us, stop and acknowledge the omnipotence of your God, the faithfulness of your Resurrected Prince. He’s working. Have faith and trust your loving Maker.
