Standing in Christ

For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:22

As Adam, we are tempted. In Christ we are victorious. As Adam, we are confused. In Christ, we know the truth always. As Adam, we get distracted. In Christ, we are sought after. As Adam, we fall, we sin, and we disappoint God. In Christ, we rise, we overcome, and we are forgiven by God. In Adam, we are running away. We are punished. We experience God’s anger. We are a shame. If we stay in our Adam state of life, if we stay in the Old Testament, the old covenant, the living-by-the-rules lifestyle-we will never be enough. But celebrate, because you are not expected to stay, not held captive in your fallen nature. Almighty God in human form, the Rock of the Ages, the unchanging King of Kings on the physical earth, Christ Jesus absorbed every judgment, rage, and disapproval meant for us, deserved by us. That is not your life anymore! Accept your new life earned for you and given freely unto you. Covered by Christ’s risen body, you are welcomed as you are, regardless of all you’ve done and will do. In Christ, we are ever-accepted. You experience God’s perpetual approval. You are noticed, understood, and wholly loved. In Christ alone, you are enough for God’s blessing and favor, because He sees the carefully crafted creation, entirely beautiful and whole through Christ. You don’t have to be empty. You don’t have to be dead. Don’t stand in Adam anymore. Stand in Christ!
