Even Now

“Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.”
Zechariah 9:12

The LORD announces this promise “even now.” Even now. Not a few months ago. Not in a few months ahead. Not after it all. That’s not the promise here either. The Lord of Creation will never leave you, but that’s easy to know when there’s no tension, no problem. It’s in the midst of the panic-that’s when we feel alone. You’ve broken the heart of your Maker, but this is when God is trying to reach out to you the most. This is when God is whispering graciously into your ear: “Even now.” It’s not over. Your Fighter has never left, and He’s offering you a great promise. If you simply run back into His arms, drowning in His grace and hope, He will redeem you. He will restore even twice as much to you! Not when life is good and you’re just going by fine. Run to Him. Drown in His grace and hope. Trust Him to restore because He promises that He will, even now.
